REZOVATION 2004 UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS
The update process for RezOvation Desktop 2004 consists of two parts: Updating
the server or "master" computer, and then updating the client or "slave" computers. (If
you do not run RezOvation Desktop on a network, they you only need to update
your server.)
Note: If you are currently using RezOvation 2002, you must first update
to RezOvation 2003 before updating to version 2004. Please contact
our support team if you have further questions.
Part One - Updating the Server Computer.
- Before updating, you should make a backup of your database. To do
this, go to File > Backup, and make a note of the location when you saved
your database file. (Refer to the "Backing Up the Database File" help
file topic in RezOvation Desktop if you need more information on making a
backup or contact Rezovation Support)

- Close RezOvation on ALL computers. Go to the computer
that is the "master" or "server" computer. This will be the computer
that has the main database file. Open RezOvation Desktop on the server
computer, and select Help > Support > Download Update.

Note : If you receive a message that your update period has expired,
you will need to do either of the following:
- If you know you have
a current Annual Update Contract or have recently purchased an update
contract, you will need to contact Rezovation Support at 512-322-2777 or
support@rezovation.com to obtain a new Authorization Code to allow for program
updates.
- You
will need to purchase an Annual Update Contract. Please visit http://www.rezovation.com or
call for pricing and additional information.
Once the download
has completed, you will see a message like the one below. Click
OK.

- Exit RezOvation Desktop. You will now see a message like the one
below. At this point all critical program files will be updated. Click
OK.

Click
Continue.

Verify
that the correct program directory is selected then click OK. If
you have installed Rezovation Desktop in a location other than the one listed
you will need to select that location before clicking OK.

When the files have successfully unzipped, you will receive the following
message:

Note:
If you receive a message that says "An error occurred while unzipping",
then make sure that RezOvation Desktop is closed. If it is not closed,
close it, open My Computer, and browse to C:\Program Files\RezOvation. Find
the file called ROUpdate or ROUpdate.exe and launch it.

Launch
RezOvation Desktop on the server or "master" computer. You
will now see a window like the one below. Select "Do Upgrade".

You
will now see a dialog like the one below. The 2004 conversion utility
will convert your database to the new 2004 format. It is
very important that you do not interrupt this process . The
conversion may take a few minutes or longer, depending on the size of your
database and the speed of your computer. A window with progress bars
will appear, informing you of the upgrade process.

Once the
conversion has completed, you will see a "Conversion Complete" message. Click
the Exit button.

- Open
RezOvation Desktop on the "server" computer and confirm that the program
has been updated to version 2004. The version number is displayed
on the splash screen (similar to the screen below) that appears when RezOvation
Desktop opens. You can also find the version in RezOvation Desktop
by going to Help > About .

Part Two - Updating Client Computers
- Open RezOvation Desktop on the first client computer.
Warning :
until the update process has completed, the clients will still be pointing
to the old 2002/2003 database. Do
not enter any data into the client machines until the update has
completed, and the clients are running RezOvation Desktop version 2004.
- Follow
steps 2 and 3 in Part One above to download the program updates.
- Repeat
the process for each client computer on your network.
- Open each client
computer, and confirm that RezOvation Desktop has been updated to the latest
version. The version number is displayed on
the splash screen (similar to the screen below) that appears when the program
opens. You can also find the version in RezOvation Desktop by going
to Help > About .
