New Features & Improvements

Email

• You can now specify an email subject line for each individual document that you send. To do this, go to the Templates configuration, open the specific document you wish to edit (e.g. confirmation), and double-click on the document name. Enter whatever email subject you wish and click OK.

Reports

• Report windows now remember their last used settings, so you don't have to re-select dates or filters every time you want to generate a report.
• The Housekeeping report can now be grouped by Status (e.g. arrival, departure, stay over, change sheets, etc.)
• We added some additional data columns to the default Housekeeping report. The data columns are: arrival date, departure date, and # of guests. As always, you can modify the report to your specific needs.
• We added some additional codes for totals to the Housekeeping report. They are - Total Rooms, Total Nights, Total Guests, Total Adults, and Total Kids. You can view these codes in the in-program help document.
• We added some additional codes to the Occupancy report. They are - # Nights Out of Service, and # Nights Total (the total room nights available). These numbers should make it easier to understand what is being reported, and whether or not out of service units are affecting your overall occupancy numbers.
• We added some additional codes to the Guest Forecast report. They are - # Nights Booked, # Nights Out of Service, # Nights Total, Total Arrivals, Total Stay Overs, Total Departures, Total Guests, # Nights Booked Total, # Nights Out of Service Total, and # Nights Overall Total.

Reservations

• When adding or editing a room, you will now see a small checkmark for any selected room nights. If you edit an existing reservation and remove or add a room night, you will also receive a confirmation message asking if you meant to change the # of nights selected.
• It is now possible to have 0 adults assigned to a particular room. This is useful if you have a room which has children, but not adults.
• If you attempt to move a reservation on the Occupancy Map to a room that cannot accommodate the total number of guests, you will receive a warning message.
• We've reorganized the right-click menu on both the Occupancy Map and Reservations List to make the options more logical, and also added the ability to print and email from the Occupancy Map.

Rates & Availability

• We added a date selection to the Rate Seasons & Adjustments screen.

Configuration

• If you edit the default tax amount for any tax, you will now see a confirmation message that allows you to set what dates the change will affect. This allows you to decide whether or not editing the default tax amount should apply to past reservations, future reservations, or both.

Booking Engine

• The availability calendar navigation has been improved to make it easier for guests to book a room. When a room is selected, "Book" button will appear below the selection, and when the date selection is changed, the availability list is automatically refreshed.

What's next?

Here are a few features that we're working on for a future update:

• An improved wait list feature, which automatically notifies you when a guest is on the wait list
• New & improved reports, including a tax exempt report and comparison reports
• More colors on the occupancy map for special dates, online reservations, groups, as well as additional color flags
• A discount / coupon system which will allow you to create all kinds of discounts both for online bookings and phone bookings
• An iPhone application that will allow you to check availability, book rooms, lookup guests, and more

Bug Fixes & Stability Enhancements

• Fixed an issue with the zip code automatic lookup which was causing the last digit if the zip code field to be cut off (note: this issue occured only in 5.6.1.38 and has been fixed in version 5.6.1.46)
• Fixed a crash that would occur when adding a tax or a tax plan (note: this issue occured only in 5.6.1.38 and has been fixed in version 5.6.1.46)
• Fixed an bug with automatic payment calculation that appears when adding a payment, which was causing the calcuation to be incorrect if the reservation included a lodging package.
• Improved the Add Room screen by changing the color of selected rooms to green, adding a small checkmark in each selected room to make it clearer that a room night is selected, and adding a confirmation message when clicking "booking" after room night selections are changed.
• Fixed a crash that would occur when scrolling in the Quick Booking screen.
• Fixed a crash that would occur when attempting to print multiple gift certificates from the GC list.
• Fixed an issue with the data import that would sometimes calculate taxes too high.
• Fixed a crash that would occur when clicking the toolbar print button with multiple records selected.
• Fixed a crash that would occur when merging certain customer records.
• Fixed an error that would occur in some cases when printing a Folio.
• Fixed an error that would occur in some cases when printing a Summary report.
• Fixed a crash that would occur when editing rooms with no revenue account assigned.
• Tax configuration will no longer recalculate taxes when the tax name or tax plan name is changed.
• Fixed a memory leak that would occur when generating reports.
• Fixed an issue with the Guest Tracker import where some taxes would import as 0%.
• Fixed an issue with the reservation reports where the calendar was defaulting to 2006.
• Fixed a crash that would occur when manually editing the auto refresh configuration setting.
• Improved the GC list so that GC face values are no longer rounded up.
• Fixed a crash that would occur when entering names that are too long in the package configuration screen.
• Updated the package configuration so that seasonal restriction date selection does not allow year selections; previously year selections were appearing even though package restrictions are not restricted to a year.
• Improved the reservation reports to better handle reservations with a gap in dates.
• Fixed a crash that would occur in some cases when scrolling on the Add Room screen.
• Fixed an issue with the occupancy map where the guest name would not appear on the occ map after adding a reservation.
• Fixed a crash that would occur in some cases when exporting the customer or reservation list.
• Fixed an "unable to add payment" error that would occur occasionally when attempting to add a payment to an invoice.
• Improved the tax configuration screen so that it is easier to recalculate invoices when taxes are changed.
• Improved the add customer screen so that the state will now appear on a printed or emailed letter even if the record is not saved.
• Loading RezOvation is now faster.
• It is now possible to have 0 adults assigned to room.
• Rooms with $0 rates will now appear on the availability calendar.
• Improved the mouse over information for group reservations on the occupancy map.
• Improved the layout of the default housekeeping report.
• Fixed an issue with online reservations that was causing incorrect system generated arrival / departure times to appear in the guest notes section.
