RezOvation March 2010 Update Release Notes

We released patch version 5.7.1.101 on April 27, 2010 that includes the following fixes, on top of any other improvements or fixed in the 5.7.1.79 version:

• Fixed an issue that would occasionally cause a double booking to occur for RMO 3 (rooms & rates by room type) when two rooms of the same room type were booked.
• Improved the Guest Tracker data import to handle missing revenue account data in Guest Tracker
• Fixed an issue with the QuickBooks export that was causing some cancellation fees to show as negative amounts.
• Fixed a crash with the Housekeeping report that was occuring for some properties.
• Fixed a crash with the Tax report that was occuring when the report was grouped by year
• Fixed the Arrival Status report so that the status filter no longer ignores unselected statuses
• Fixed a bug that was causing the Occupancy Map to crash if there were multiple custom colors with overlapping dates.

New Features & Improvements

iPhone

Occupancy Map

• Colors, colors, everywhere!  We added custom colors to the occupancy map for special dates, weekends, wait listed reservations, online bookings, and more.  You can set up custom colors by going to the Configuration section and selecting Custom Colors.
• Reservations with a credit card authorization can now be displayed with a unique color.
• We improved the wait list.  The wait list will now pop up if you cancel a reservation for a wait listed date.  You can also open it any time by going to View > Wait List from the menu, and search / view any wait listed reservations.
• When a reservation is moved to a room with different rates, there is now an option to keep the rate or recalculate it.

Reservations & Customers

• Last used filters are now remembered, so you don't have to reselect your filters even time you move between screens.
• We added a Cancellations filter to the Reservation List.
• You can now require a referral source before booking a reservation. To enable this setting, go to Configuration and click the link on the right for "Lists, Occupancy Map, Reservations & Customers".
• We added a blank option to the customer prefix field.

Reports

• You can now compare many of the reports year over year or for whatever date range you choose. This feature is available for all revenue, reservation, occupancy, and summary reports.
• We improved the tax reports to show non-taxable & tax-exempt sales, as well as gross sales.
• Added a code for room extension to the Reservation & Housekeeping reports, as well as confirmation letter, registration card, and all other reservation letters.

Rates & Availability

• Packages can now be restricted to max future days (e.g. no more than 1 year in the future)
• The rate seasons & adjustments screen now displays occupancy % numbers for the entire month, and each day.

Booking Engine

• You can now opt to receive online booking notifications via text message (SMS). To add your mobile #, go to the Configuration section, and click the link under Online Reservations for "Common Settings". Enter your mobile # in the field provided.
• There is now a “email link” button in the Booking Engine Settings to make it easier for you to send your webmaster your online booking links.
• We added more colors for the Booking Engine buttons - about 10 more color options.

Misc

• There is now a “restart services” shortcut in the Start menu for troubleshooting purposes.
• We added a link to the Intuit Merchant Service website (QBMS website) from the View menu to make it easier for you access your credit card batch information and charge data.
• It is now possible to enter data further in the past when creating a new database. Just select the option when prompted as you are setting up RezOvation GT.
• You can now reset the QuickBooks IIF export dates via the QuickBooks IIF Export settings screen. This is useful if you need to re-export any data.

Bug Fixes & Stability Enhancements

• Booking Engine > Fixed a bug with some browsers that would cause the availability calendar to refresh when clicking the Book button.
• Booking Engine > Fixed the calculation of the "you save" amount on the rooms list which was not correctly including a room rate discount in the "you save" calculation.
• Booking Engine > Fixed a bug with the Availability Calendar that would occur when manually typing in a date and pressing Enter.
• Booking Engine > The photo gallery link will now appear if the availability calendar is set to not show room photos.
• Configuration > Fixed a crash that would occur for some customers when attempting to update taxes.
• Configuration > Fixed a bug with tax calculations that would occur when a tax plan had more than one per night tax.
• Configuration > Fixed a bug that would occur for non-US properties when clicking the email configuration link.
• Data restore > Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause the restore to fail for non-US properties.
• Data import > Fixed a crash that would occur in some cases when importing Guest Tracker data that was corrupt.
• Email > Fixed an issue with group folio emails which was causing the formatting to be incorrect.
• Email > Automated emails are no longer sent for reservations that contain no room assignments.
• Email > When using a custom email subject, there is no longer an extra space at the beginning of the subject line.
• GDS > Fixed an issue what was causing reservations to be taxed twice.
• Gift Certificates > Fixed an error that would occur in some cases when refreshing the Gift Certificate list.
• Gift Certificates > Canceling a reservation right after creating a GC no longer saves the GC.
• Groups > You can now convert a reservation to a group from the Occupancy Map.
• Occupancy Map > Fixed a bug which was causing the date to be set to the month after the month selected when using the "show months from" selection.
• Occupancy Map > Fixed a bug with Booking Engine reservations which was causing the name on the occupancy to display the "bill to" name if the reservation was edited after it was booked.
• Occupancy Map > The view no longer resets when "Sort By" is changed.
• Occupancy Map > Rooms are now correctly displayed for non-US properties.
• Printing > Fixed an issue that would occur in some cases when printing the occupancy map from Excel.
• Quick Booking Screen > Improved so that adjusting departure date no longer resets arrival date.
• QuickBooks Export > Improved the export so that authorization payments (pre-auths) are no longer exported.
• QuickBooks Export > Fixed an issue with cancelled reservations that was causing room revenue to be exported in some cases.
• Reservations > Fixed a bug which would cause a reservation to be cancelled when double-clicking an extra in a package.
• Reservations > Number of extras in a package are now properly recalculated when overriding base occupancy.
• Reservations > Improved the "Rooms list" column on the Reservation List to be consistent with the "Room" column.
• Reservations > Reservation status will no longer show as pending when a deposit is paid for a split / multi room reservation.
• Reservations > Fixed a double-listing of confirmation emails in the Correspondence field.
• Reservations > If you reorder the columns, the order will now be preserved when you restart RezOvation GT.
• Reservations > Improved the Reservation Edit so that adding an extra to a reservation that departs today sets the sale date of the extra to today, instead of the arrival date.
• Rate Adjustments > The rate adjustments grid will now show correctly for non-US properties.
• Reports > Fixed an error that would occur in some cases when generating a housekeeping report.
• Reports > Fixed an error that would occur in some cases when exporting to QuickBooks.
• Reports > Fixed a bug in the Guest Forecast report which was causing reports to display different data when run multiple times.
• Reports > Improved the occupancy reports so that rooms which are empty are not included.
• Reports > Improved the revenue by Booking Agent and Item reports so that they no longer report deleted bookings.
• Reports > Changed "Number of Nights" to read "Total Room Nights" for revenue reports.
• Reports > The reservation balance report no longer includes authorizations.
• Reports > The number of nights code now correctly displays the actual number of nights for group bookings.
• Reports > Confirmation letter now correctly displays contiguous nights for multi-room / split bookings, instead of total # of nights.
