My ISP requires e-mail authentication. How do I set that up in Guest Tracker?

Overview
Most Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have e-mail servers that accept e-mail from anyone who has logged on to their system by dialing in or using a DSL, Broadband, or Satellite connection to access them. Recently there has been a trend towards making the e-mail servers more secure by adding a requirement called "authentication" or "ESMTP". Essentially, this is just a second username and password combination (often the same username/password as the one used to log on to your ISP) that gets sent along with each e-mail message so that the mail server will accept it and pass it on to the recipient.

This is a new security concept which had not been created when Guest Tracker version 3 was released. Most ISPs do not require and have no immediate plans to implement e-mail authentication. If your ISP has notified you that they are or will be using e-mail authentication, here are the steps to add that capability to Guest Tracker.

If your ISP does not require e-mail authentication, then enabling it in Guest Tracker may prevent your e-mail from sending out.
Step by Step
1.) Exit completely out of Guest Tracker and download the Guest Tracker Pro Update. Be sure to follow all instructions as given.
2.) After installing the update successfully, open up Guest Tracker.
3.) Switch to the Admin section and click the button. Then select the ADMIN tab.
4.) Click . You should now have a new check-box at the bottom of the settings window.

5.) Put a check-mark in the "Requires Email Authentication" box and then fill in the proper username and password, as supplied by your Internet Service Provider. If the email is being set up for the first time, be sure to fill in all other fields properly.
6.) Exit out of the E-mail settings and Preferences windows. Guest Tracker is now set up to do authentication.
