What is the "check-mark" and how do I use it?

Overview
Guest Tracker has a very useful technique for selecting multiple items in a list. By moving your mouse to the left edge of just about any list of people, units, charges or reservations, it will turn into a Check Mark and you can select multiple items in that list. Once they are selected, you have to option of printing a letter or report for each one, assigning multiple units, deleting multiple items, etc. depending on where you are in the program.

The example below will show how to select a few of the many confirmed reservations in the system and print a report for each of the selected reservations.

Step by Step
1) Go to the ALL Reservations section. Click on the Confirmed button to show you the list of confirmed reservations.

2) In our example, we only want to print a letter to 3 of the 10 total reservations. To do this, you can use the Check Mark. Move the mouse to the left edge of the list of names until it changes into a check mark as in the following graphic. (Note the check mark over the name: Glinsek, James.) You can then check mark as many or as few names as you wish.

3) Once they are highlighted in red, you can print a confirmation letter (or whatever you want) for each of the selected names. Simply click on the File menu and then on Print.

4) This will bring up the Select a Template window. Select the report or letter you'd like and click the Print button to print one for each person.
Other Uses
The Check Mark can be used just about anywhere you see a list in Guest Tracker. Usually it is used to delete multiple items from a list but can also be used in the following ways:
  1. On the Yellow Charge Screen, to delete charges or to transfer charges in a group reservation.
  2. When adding people to a group reservation to select multiple people.
  3. In the Reservations Section, you can highlight multiple reservations and hit the Check In or Check Out buttons to mass check in/out multiple reservations.
  4. As mentioned earlier, on just about any screen that has a list of items, it can be used to delete items from the list (People, Reservations, Reports/Mail, Unit Definitions, Revenue Accounts, Charge Items, etc.)
  5. On the Unit Assignments window, it can be used to assign multiple units as in the following graphic.
