How can I change the way Guest Tracker displays dates?

Overview

Guest Tracker displays dates in a number of areas throughout the program and can also print dates in a couple of different ways. This tip will explain how you can customize the way dates display and print to satisfy your own needs.

Within Guest Tracker, dates are shown using a Short Date Format, typically Month/Day/Year (i.e. 7/1/1999) or some variation of this format. When printing, dates can be shown in this same Short Format or in a Long Format which actually displays the day of the week and the entire month name. For example, when creating/modifying reports (Pro version only) and letters (Pro and Lite), date fields are always available in Short and Long format (i.e. <Arrival Date - Short> AND <Arrival Date - Long>).

These Short and Long Date Formats can be modified to suit your individual needs from within the Windows Control Panel.

Step By Step

1.)

Click on the Start button on the Windows Desktop.

Point to the Settings option and then click on the Control Panel option.

In the Control Panel, find and double-click on the Regional Settings icon.

This will bring up the Regional Settings Properties window. Click on the Date tab at the top of the screen to show the current Short and Long Date settings.

NOTE: The Regional Settings Properties window may vary depending on your installation of Windows.

To change the short or long date formats, select a new setting from the Short Date Style/Long Date Style drop down lists. After selecting a new setting, click the Apply button at the bottom of the screen and look in the Short Date Sample/Long Date Sample boxes to see an example of the new setting.

CAUTION: The Short Date Style must have a 4-digit year (4 'y's) for Guest Tracker to run properly!!

Click OK to close the Regional Settings Properties window.
