| Sometimes, as a result of a virus, damage,
age, or just a desire for a new toy, properties acquire a new computer
to replace their current one. When that occurs, you will probably want
or need to move Guest Tracker to the new system.
The steps are laid out in optimal order for users of Guest Tracker
version 3 and above. If you use guest Tracker version 2 Lite or
Pro, you will need to switch the order for steps 3 and 4. |
| 1) |
Install Guest Tracker on the new computer. |
| 2) |
Get your backup disk(s).
If your old computer can still be used, use the Guest Tracker
Backup program to make a clean backup of your database, reports,
and letters.
If your old computer is no longer usable, get the most recent
backup of your database, reports, and letters. |
| 3) |
Restore from the backup.
On the new computer, using the most recent backup disks you have,
run the Guest Tracker Backup program and select the RESTORE option.
Restore your database, reports, and letters. When finished, open
up Guest Tracker |
| 4) |
Contact Guest Tracker for a new Authorization
Code.
Each time that Guest Tracker is installed on a new computer you
will need to contact the support line (512-322-2777) for an authorization
code to make your installation permanent.
Guest Tracker Pro Users (version 3 and above) will have 45-days
before their installation requires a code to open, but you don't
need to wait for that to happen!
Guest Tracker Lite and Guest Tracker Pro (pre-version 3) users
will need to call for a code immediately after installing the software. |
