What are the minimum requirements to run Guest Tracker on my computer?

Overview

Guest Tracker will run on any computer system with Microsoft® Windows® 95 or above, but there are some minimum hardware requirements that should be adhered to to get the best performance and results.

Windows 95/98/SE

IBM®-Compatible PC with a Pentium® 200 MHz or faster processor
32 MB RAM (minimum)
20 MB of free hard disk space.
A default printer must be configured.
For the Web Module or e-mail features, a modem or other Internet-capable connection of 56k or faster.

Windows NT/ME*

IBM®-Compatible PC with a Pentium® 200 MHz or faster processor
64 MB RAM (minimum)
20 MB of free hard disk space.
A default printer must be configured.
For the Web Module or e-mail features, a modem or other Internet-capable connection of 56k or faster.

* Although Guest Tracker runs properly under Windows ME, reports of general instability in the operating system have prompted us to encourage use of Windows 98 or XP instead.

Windows 2000/XP/XP Professional

IBM®-Compatible PC with a Pentium® 200 MHz or faster processor
128 MB RAM (minimum)
20 MB of free hard disk space.
A default printer must be configured.
For the Web Module or e-mail features, a modem or other Internet-capable connection of 56k or faster.

Other Considerations

If you plan to use the Web Module's .html Availability Calendars, be sure to check with the Internet Service Provider (ISP) that hosts your web site to check that they allow use of File Transfer Protocol (FTP) commands to send the .html Calendar pages to your site.
If you plan to run Guest Tracker on a Local Area Network (LAN), you will also need proper equipment to network your computer systems together. Please consult with a network technician or company for details about which equipment will best fit your hardware. We recommend a 100mbps (100baseT) or faster network connection.
