Error 10060: Connection Timed Out -or- Error 20425: Can't Open Data Connection

Overview
With the growing popularity of "always on" Internet connections using DSL, Cable Modems, Satellite connections and Wide-Area Networks, many people install software-based personal firewalls on their computers. While these firewall programs are generally somewhat cheaper than a hardware solution, they are nowhere near as easy to use and can lead to complications with other programs that need to access the Internet.

In the Guest Tracker Web Module these conflicts can appear as time-out or other connection errors. In some cases this problem can be solved by changing the way that the Web Module sends its information. In other cases, the problem must be solved in the firewall software.

Step-By-Step
1.) Open the Web Module and click the Options button button.
2.) In the lower-right corner, click the Advanced FTP Settings button button.
3.) You get the Advanced FTP Settings window.

In the Additional Options section at the bottom, check off the "Always Use Passive FTP" option.

CAUTION! Do NOT make any changes to the information in the Firewall/Proxy area!

4.) If this does not solve your problem, contact your firewall software manufacturer for instructions to disable the firewall while the Web Module is running.
