When am I billed for GDS reservations?

You will be billed by RezOvation for any GDS reservations after the reservation arrival date. Travel agent commission fees, however, are paid directly to the travel agent through which the reservation was booked.

When a reservation is changed or canceled, do I have to change or cancel it in RezOvation Desktop?

Yes. When a reservation is changed or canceled via the GDS, it is NOT automatically canceled in RezOvation Desktop. You will, however, receive an email notification of the cancellation. Once you receive this notification, you will need to manually cancel the reservation in RezOvation Desktop.

Why am I being charged a fee for a canceled reservation?

Reservations made on the GDS must also be canceled on GDS. For example, if a reservation is made through Expedia, then the guest will need to contact Expedia to cancel the reservation. If they contact you directly, then the GDS system has no way of knowing that the reservation was canceled, and so the fee is still charged.

If the reservation is canceled through the GDS, then you will not be charged a fee for the reservation.

Why am I being charged a fee for a no-show reservation?

If a guest does not cancel the reservation through GDS, then the GDS system will still charge for the reservation.

One way to avoid this situation is to require a credit card (credit card guarantee) at time of reservation, and make sure that you have a cancellation policy in place which reflects any fees that will be charged. If the guest does not show up, then you can charge the cancellation fee to the card provided.

Are deposits automatically billed for GDS reservations?

No. If your policy on GDS states that a deposit will be charged, you will have to charge it manually after the reservation is booked.

How do I make changes to rates and minimum night stays on GDS?

Note: If you are adding or removing rooms or room types, please contact RezOvation Support before making any changes to avoid any conflicts with your GDS availability.

My room availability is not correct on GDS. How do I fix this?

First, please make sure that your Auto Updates are turned ON. The Auto Update function sends updates to your Booking Engine as well as GDS every time a change is made to your availability.

The Auto Update indicator is located on the bottom right hand corner of the Reserve Day screen in RezOvation Desktop. It will display either a checkmark or a globe when it is active. If Auto Updates are not active, then an X will be displayed.

If necessary, you can also re-send all of your room availability. To do this, click on the Auto Update check mark and select Verify Occupancy followed by Verify GDS/ODS.
