RezOvation Desktop FAQs : Managing Customers & Reservations :
Taking Rooms Out of Service

In some cases you may need to block a room or rooms out of service either due to repairs, because your inn is closed, or because you only want to selectively book rooms for certain dates (e.g. during a special event ). There are two ways to mark a room out of service: 1) block from the occupancy map (best when blocking a single room for a short period, or 2 or more rooms for a short period), or 2) block by picking a date range (best when blocking all rooms or a single room for a long period).

First option: block room(s) for a short period of time.

  1. Go to the Reservation Day screen.
  2. Click and drag to select just like you would when making a reservation. Right click and select "Mark Out of Service".

  3. Enter the reason for blocking the room(s) out of service.

  4. The out of service marker will appear in green, with with reason displayed.

Second option: block room(s) for a long period of time.

  1. Select the Edit menu, and click Mark Out of Service.

  2. Select the start and end date of the out of service, and select either one room or click Mark All Out of Service to block all rooms at once.

  3. Enter the reason for blocking the room(s) out of service.

  4. The out of service marker will appear in green, with with reason displayed.
