Q: How do I merge customer referral sources?

A: RezOvation Desktop includes a special merge feature that allows you to merge duplicate referral sources, or merge similar referral sources into one source.

To access this feature, select Tools > List Edit from the menu.

If you are merging items into a new referral source, then create the referral source by clicking the "Add New" button. Make sure that you click another source in the list to save the new referral source to the database (if you see a pencil edit icon, then the record is not saved yet).

Now right-click anywhere on the list, and a Combine Item window will appear.

Select the item on the left that you wish to keep (i.e. merge items into), and select the item on the right that you wish to merge into the item on the left. In our example, we want to merge all referral sources called "Ad" into one referral source called "Magazine Ad".

Click Combine Selections, and all reservations and customers with the old referral source will now reflect the referral source on the left, and the old referral source will be deleted.
