New Feature
- Added support for handling of packages in the RezOvation Booking Engine. This new feature allows you to sell both lodging packages (packages with rooms included) and add-on packages through the RezOvation Booking Engine. Some notes on this feature:
- This new feature is considered BETA. While it has been fully tested, we encourage your feedback and appreciate your understanding as we make improvements.
- There are two types of packages: Lodging packages (which include rooms, and which can be used for things like room specials, etc. as well as all-inclusive packages which include the room rate), and add on packages (which are stand-alone packages that may contain one or more items).
- Packages can now include photos, which are uploaded to each package via the package configuration section.
- Packages must be enabled individually for display on the Booking Engine -- by default no packages will be displayed. To make a package available for the Booking Engine, edit the package and select the option for "available on Booking Engine"
- Only packages that are available for the Booking Engine enabled rate type (typically "Rack") AND which are enabled for Booking Engine will show up online.
- If there is a date restriction on package, then the arrival and departure date of reservation must be within package date restrictions for the package to be available.
- Rooms added after packages are configured are not automatically associated with / available to be booked with existing packages. You must edit each package and update manually after the new room is added.
- Lodging packages cannot be booked at this time when using availability calendar; only add-on packages can be booked.
- If you wish to sell single items through the Booking Engine, then simply create a new add on package with only one item in it.
- Packages can only be booked through the RezOvation Booking Engine. Packages cannot be booked through BedandBreakfast.com online reservations, Webervations, Expedia, or any other Expedia affiliate.
Improvements
- Show availability calendar along with custom "no availability" message if user has option set in client BE configuration settings
- Improved the RezOvation background service (RezOvation Property Manager) in order to better handle slow starting client environments
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where the Help file was set to always be on in focus and on top. Help file now does not steal focus.
- Resolved a bug which was causing letters that where deleted to still show up in the letters / emails list.
- Improved the automatic jobs scheduler so that jobs such as "populate rates" and "send scheduled emails" recover more gracefully if the job scheduler fails.
- Removed restriction that was preventing "record only" payments from being edited.
- Fixed a bug which caused the Show Today button on Occupancy Map to misbehave.
- Fixed a bug which caused the Occupancy Map to open to the wrong day.
- Improved formatting of the "Created on date", which was getting moved when the form was resized.
- Fixed an issue which caused Add Payment to default to Full Payment even though there is a Deposit policy > $0.
- Improved the "Restore from portal" function to better handle database with an out of date schema.
- Fixed a bug which was preventing the use of "Record Only" Credit Card refunds if QBMS was enabled.
- Fixed a display issue with Package configuration where the package restrictions were not committing Min res length value in the UI.
- Fixed a display issue with Package configuration where Package restrictions were not displaying max res length descriptor in the Package List screen.
- Improved the updater to increase wait for service restart after update is applied, which helps with slower computers or computers with numerous applications running
- Fixed a bug which was causing the software to crash when entering an unlock code via startup splash screen.
