Webervations Transition Information

On January 15, 2009, at midnight Central Standard Time, we will be moving the Webervations system to new servers at our high-speed data centers in Austin, Texas.    We’ve already begun some work to optimize the Webervations program, and the move should result in faster performance for all aspects of the Webervations system, including the admin site and guest booking pages.

During the transition, we will have to take the Webervations system offline and both the admin site and guest booking pages will be temporarily unavailable.  Availability uploads and reservation downloads from property management software will also be temporarily unavailable.  We do not anticipate more than a few hours of downtime during this process.

As part of this transition, the server address ("IP address") will be changing. Some software programs which upload data to Webervations connect using a specific IP address, and will stop working if no action is taken on January 16th.

The following programs are NOT affected by the server transition and do not need to be updated.

  • Webervations 2.0 (new Webervations)
  • RezOvation GT
  • RezOvation Desktop
  • GuestALL (7.4 or newer)
  • NightClerk Express
  • TCS GuestTracker (newer versions)
  • iMagic
  • Vacation Rent Pro
  • Booking Center
  • InnReserve
  • InnOvation (version 4.7.0.0 and newer)
  • Innformed Manager

 

The following programs MUST be updated to use a new server address on January 16.

A change to your software is required to ensure that you can continue uploading data to Webervations. Please select from your software vendor below for instructions on how to update the IP address. Please do not make this change until the morning of Friday, January 16. Changes made prior to that date will not work.

Guest Tracker (Munsenware)

Open the Guest Tracker Web Module. To do this, either double-click the Guest Tracker web module icon displayed in the bottom right corner of your screen, or click the Windows Start button, and select Programs > Guest Tracker > Web Module.

Click the Options button.

Click the Webervations tab.

Go to the FTP Settings box and click the Change button.

Click OK to the warning message.

Change the Server Name to ftp.webervations.com and click OK.

 

InnOvation (4.6.0.3 and older)

Only older InnOvation versions are affected. The latest version will not be affected by this change. If you do not know what version of InnOvation you are using, please contact InnOvation support.

You must upgrade to the latest version of InnOvation (4.7.0.0 or newer) in order to continue uploading to Webervations. Users of version 4.6.0.3 will no longer be able to upload data to Webervations, as this version does not support an IP address change.

GuestALL (prior to version 7.4)

Only GuestALL versions prior to 2003 need to be updated. All other versions will not be affected by this change. If you do not know what version of GuestALL you are using, please contact GuestALL support.

Select the Configuration Menu and go to Web Services > Webervations.

Find the entry for "IP Address or Name of Webervations ...". Change the value to ftp.webervations.com and click Save.

Alternatively, you can download and install the latest program file update from the GuestALL site,  and this will change the upload mode to XML by default, which does not require any modifications.

 

TCS GuestTracker (older versions)

The IP address will be updated for you automatically. Please contact TCS GuestTracker support directly if you have any problems or questions.

 

InnKontrol

The FTP server or IP address should be changed to ftp.webervations.com

Unfortunately, we were not able to obtain configuration information for InnKontrol. Please contact your software vendor for further information.

 

Dabble

The FTP server or IP address should be changed to ftp.webervations.com

Unfortunately, we were not able to obtain configuration information for Dabble. Please contact your software vendor for further information.

 

MotelMax

The FTP server or IP address should be changed to ftp.webervations.com

Unfortunately, we were not able to obtain configuration information for MotelMax. Please contact your software vendor for further information.
